I absolutely love all your "wreck this journal" posts.
I got one kinda similar for my eleventh birthday, but it was all girly and weird. Like
Page 1---> Draw the boy you like.
Page 2---> Who are your best friends?
Page 3---> are your best friends prettier than you? Draw yourself.
Page 4---> Draw yourself as a movie star.
Page 5---> Write an entry about your first date with a hunk from a boy-band.

I literally burned the thing within days.
I kept the fancy pen though, it was silver glitter ink and that shit is useful.

Hahaha, I laughed a lot reading this! Thank you so much! I think if I had done that one instead, it might have been a little disturbing... And never turn down cool free stuff, even when you have burned the crap that came with it.

Hahaha glad to hear that!
All loathing aside, it was fun for a few days until I realized I was writing almost all my secrets in a book that prided itself on being "For GURLZ Only". That really de-legitimized my deepest thoughts and feelings.
Those are words to live by! Though, in hindsight, it probably wasn't free and was totally included in the price. I blame the naive and totally balling demographic of 7-12 year olds!

I can see how confiding all of your deepest secrets in book that manages to spell 'girls' so disasterously wrong would have a fairly numbing effect on any kind of emotion you had poured into it. An d lets face it, even if the pen had not been included, I feel they may have attempted top sell the book for the same price. The pen merely made the value seem fairer.
And hell, what would 7-12 year olds know of fair pricing?
